Empowering Youth through Prevention

At the Gloves Against Drugs Foundation, our mission is to empower and inspire young men and women, ages 12-18, by providing them with the tools and resources necessary to make healthy choices and lead fulfilling lives. Through the discipline and mentorship offered by boxing, we aim to build resilience, foster self-esteem, and prevent substance abuse. Our commitment is to create a supportive community environment where youth can thrive, develop their potential, and become champions both inside and outside the ring. We strive to transform lives, reduce the impact of adverse childhood experiences, and build a safer, healthier future for our community.

Our Impact

The Gloves against drugs foundation connects underserved communities, children, youth, and families with vital substance abuse prevention education, “life skills”, and healthy lifestyle choices. We increase protective factors for youth participants and decrease the social acceptability of substance abuse/misuse. All use participants receive federally approved prevention education and undergo pre-test and post-test evaluations. When we strengthen a young person’s knowledge base of substance abuse and perceived risk, we not only improve the youths’ resilience and strengthen the community, but we help young people unleash greatness!!

About Us

The Gloves Against Drugs Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded in 2019 with a mission to educate and inspire young men and women, ages 12-25, to resist peer pressure, understand the risks of substance abuse, and embrace healthy alternatives through the discipline of boxing. Our programs aim to provide a safe and supportive environment where young men and women can develop both their physical and mental strength.

Our Story

Our journey began in 2008 when Michael Miller, the founder and president of The Gloves Against Drugs Foundation, started training at Elsmere Boxing Club as a way to release his aggression. Over the years, boxing became a transformative passion for Michael. In 2017, when he learned that the gym was being sold, Michael saw an opportunity to leave his corporate career and focus on building a program that would benefit his underserved community.

Inspired by the positive impact boxing had on his life, Michael established Gloves Against Drugs in 2018. Since then, the organization has been dedicated to helping young people resist temptation, avoid substance abuse, and find a sense of purpose and direction through boxing training and mentorship.
